Donna Hidalgo believes that the beating heart of any organization is its product. As Director of Products at ExperiencePoint, she passionately ensures that the company’s product strategy is compelled into a polished vision shared, understood and carried forward by the organization.
Raised in Montreal, Hidalgo obtained her Bachelor of Science at Concordia University, studying mathematics and statistics with a specialization in actuarial science. Upon graduation, she was hired by a brokerage firm before moving to Toronto in 2004. Deciding a career as an actuary wasn’t the right fit, she ventured into product management with the goal of gaining broader organizational exposure and experience.
Hidalgo then began a 15-year journey managing and developing product portfolios in the financial services industry, working with such esteemed institutions as Foresters Financial and American Express. This path led her to ExperiencePoint in 2018, where she now employs the tenets of human-centered thinking to improve and develop the company’s world-class products.
Always attempting to challenge herself, Hidalgo has recently attempted horseback riding, guitar lessons, mountain biking and has traveled to various surfing destinations with the eventual goal of “looking cool on a board.” One of her most challenging and proudest moments was reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro. While her methodical nature has led her to plan many of her travel adventures with spreadsheets, Hidalgo’s goal for 2020 is to seize the spontaneous.
