A large organization recently approached Patwell Consulting to scale change leadership capability to more than 350 employees. Drawing from her experience and client insights, principal Bev Patwell turned to three wise practices to guide the process: 1) collaborate with design teams to anchor learning in real-world contexts, 2) implement a ‘Train the Trainer’ approach to scale learning and 3) continuously evaluate the development process, results and impact.
Bev partnered with ExperiencePoint to deliver an ExperienceChangeⓇ Train the Trainer to her client’s design team, a key anchor in her Leading Meaningful Change program. The team—made of operations managers, directors and a coach—collaborated, enabling internal trainers and external consultants to learn from one another, develop their skills and align on strategy. This approach ensured the program would scale efficiently while staying true to the organization’s unique culture and business needs.
This approach proved successful for both the organization and Bev as a consultant. By building the team’s internal capability to live, lead and manage change, the organization scaled faster, allowing leaders to take the stage and model their desired culture of change daily. Then, to maintain momentum, they created a system to track the participants and program’s progress, celebrate critical milestones and curate an ongoing, engaging and meaningful learning journey.
